💡 The idea

Many Ukrainians listen to russian music even by this day. Our aim was to analyze how the war shaped their listening habits based on the data from streaming services (Spotify, YouTube Music and Apple Music), including tracking the dynamics of listening and identifying their current state, categorizing the songs by country of origin.

The main focus was on analyzing the data from the Ukrainian charts of the streaming platforms Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music. In total, 60 weekly charts for each of the platforms were analyzed, covering the period from January 2022 to the end of February 2023, which became the basis for further visualization.

🪜 The process

A variety of methods and tools were used to collect, process and visualize data.

⬇️ Gathering the Data

The research was based on the charts of Spotify, YouTube Music, and Apple Music. On Spotify and YouTube Music, they are freely available. There are no official charts for Apple Music, so we used the Top-Charts.com charts.
